That's awesome. I was thinking it would be funny for him to interrupt the monologue, or (even though it'd never happen) while Taylor was singing. But now everyone is expecting it. Still could be entertaining to see I guess.

I think the only solution is to have him interrupt *every* sketch to end it.
Who'd make up someone named Regina?!? It's the capital of Saskatchewan!

Taylor was on Jimmy Fallon and said she has written down a long list of sketch ideas she wants to do, and she's also come prepared with some impressions. So hopefully this should be a good show.

That is a terrible sign. Let the people actually paid to write do the writing.

Well...yes and no. Usually, isn't it better when a host tries to contribute instead of just going along with whatever they write for him/her? The best hosts are usually people like Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, or Alec Baldwin, who you can tell have had some input into the sketches. Not that I'm comparing her to them, but I'd rather someone be excited about hosting and have ideas they want to contribute, instead of like an Annette Bening-type host who you can tell is just being led around and wants to have as little input into the show as possible.

Jimmy did joke that "They usually won't do your suggestions, but go ahead"...It didn't really seem like he was kidding that much, so maybe they will ignore her and do what they want to do anyway.

I think I remember Peyton Manning saying something during the week he was on that he had some of his own ideas for that show and it turned out to be one of the better shows of the year.Compare that with say, Michael Phelps who,I'm guessing just went along with whatever they had planned.

Sure,Phelps has no stage presence but you could tell that one guy was into it and the other just looked bored the whole time. But,yeah if Taylor looks excited about it and wants to try and contribute, why not?

Taylor mentioned that her favorite SNL character is Penelope, so I'm sure they'll use that as an excuse to drag out that sketch again (gag!)

My perspective would be different if I thought that she maybe had good ideas. But honestly, I don't, and I think in that situation your best bet is to play game and let the writers do the writing and hope a mediocre show pops out (see: LeBron James). I would compare her more to athlete hosts than normal actors and actresses, and I think it's clear that Peyton Manning is a special case sports host.

Taylor Swift has a little more acting experience than Peyton Manning or LeBron James though; she was in an episode of "CSI" and she has a movie coming out next year.
I expect a little more from her than an athlete host. Sometimes a person her age and from her background does a surprising job (Timberlake, Efron), and sometimes they don't (Olsen Twins), so this episode could be really good or really bad.

Agreed-those guys had only done commercials and I would expect more from a singer than someone who throws footballs or shoots jumpshots for a living.

But who knows about experience-Bon Jovi had a fair amount of acting credits going in and look at that show.
